Term 2 is full of fun and exciting activities. This blog will be updated regulary with information about what is happening in the Vistalite room.
So far this term there has been a couple of changes, Sarah Lovell has joined our class as a release teacher every second Tuesday. New students have enterd the class and have fitted in well to our class routines.
Our Transdisciplinary theme this half of the term is 'How we organise ourselves'. We are focusing on the different work places and roles within a work place. We will be visiting Subway and The Sock Factory to look at the different production roles so the students can get an idea of what happens within a work place.

Here is some activities from past Inquiries:
We are also learning about how we learn. We watched two youtube videos that showed us how to make an origami cup and boat. Some students found this really easy and only had to watch it once to be able to follow the instructions. Other students found this really tricky and had to watch it lots of times to be able to complete their cup and boat. This showed us that some students learn by watching and doing more easily than others.
Here are the videos we watched. You might like to try them at home. The paper cup was quite easy but the boat was a bit trickier!
Hello room 8. I am at Halswell School in room 19. I am missing you all very much. I will be back soon. I am learning about Ancient Greece. We have been doing lots of fun stuff. We have a new building for the year 5/6 and 7/8 children. From Danielle
